What are you up to?

It's not Kali, but I have managed to install Ubuntu 16.04 LTS on my Chromebook.

Still not entirely sure what I'm going to do with it now, but step one is completed.

Updated my BIOS to revision F30 yesterday, which gives me AGESA version 1.0.8.1. However, the flash disabled my RAM's XMP profile, turned off virtualization, and enabled CSM support. That means I had to reboot again :p

Doesn't the flash bring the Bios back the Default? I don't have a UEFI BIOS so I don't know if that's a thing.

This is the only motherboard I've ever seen this behavior on, and I've flashed BIOSes on more than my fair share of motherboards, UEFI or no.

I'm currently in the process of getting all my Docker containers back up and running. Not sure what happened for sure, but I had a drive drop out of my unRAID cache array and when I replaced it I lost all my containers Sad

That's the problem: thinking back to past flashes, it's been resetting every time.

Not that it matters, there are really only those three settings I need to change, but still... Minor annoyance.

I've been working in the office the last few days trying to get it clutter free enough to not only walk unobstructed in, but also to position the sensors (or IR emitters or whatever the hell they actually are) for my (aging) Oculus Rift so I can actually use it. Yeah, I know it's getting horribly outdated with the current gen headsets not needing said external sensors for accurate position tracking.... but I don't know if I'll ever invest in anything else VR after using the Rift just one afternoon. I couldn't get over the blurryness / foggyness of the image... kind of funny because I don't remember the Samsung Gear VR headsets (the one you popped your phone into) having that same foggy image.

I even went so far as to double check the 'lenses' in the headset for that plastic film shit you sometimes find on plexiglass.

Still, the one day I set up the Rift I DID have a lot of fun with the little demo it puts you through to teach you how to use the controllers. IIRC it had a little robot that resembled ClapTrap and it walked you through picking things up, dropping them, and using VR weapons in a shooting gallery. I figure a real game has to be more fun than that. Big Grin

Also, the Lunchkin (soon to be stepdaughter) is trying to get me to play a game called 'Among Us' which near as I can tell is some sort of 'find the imposter' game with retro pixel style graphics. Apparently it's become quite popular... I wouldn't know. I've been out of the loop for like two years now thanks to THE WOMANS. I can't really complain, the benefits are pretty nice. Big Grin

Among Us is looks super fun if you play with a bunch of people you know. Can't imagine playing with randos.

Finally converted my 3D printer's side-mounted part cooling blower into a 50mm front-mounted fan. That blower is powerful but it makes a TON of noise ... I'm printing a calibration cube as a test and the new 50mm fan kicked on after the first layer with barely a whisper. This means that all of the internal and extruder fans have been replaced, and the only appreciable noise coming from it is from the axis steppers.
