Shifted gears with the Pi case ever so slightly. The one I ended up making took 10 hours at 20% fill, which is really bad considering I can make the current design in about 4 and a half hours.

I took this case, which has the honeycomb design on the top and bottom, made it a bit taller, covered all but two of the holes (the one that's sunken in on the right-front side, and the long slot on the left-hand side), and put a grille where the three USB ports on the top of the front were. Stuck the company logo on the front, and there, that's the desktop model. Put some brackets on it and bam, rackmount.

The desktop model fits inside the previous, big attempt. I have a fully-assembled one sitting on my desk with the sensor attached, and it is glorious.

The new A/C unit shakes the air vent closest to it a little when it's on. Now that's some good blowin'.

I declare that I'm not doing shit today.

I gotta wait around for the air conditioner company to come and do spring maintenance anyway. Plus I'm saving my energy for a walk tonight because the last evening walk wiped me the fuck out. Tuesday night we walked 2.25 miles and I swear I almost diededed... LOL

Sliced a piece off my finger trimming the 0.8mm brim off the job I printed overnight. Didn't notice until I had a nice puddle of blood on my white desk at work. Oops.

Those Dupont connectors are a pain if you don't have the fingers of a 3 year old. Good thing one of my co-workers brought all of his soldering stuff in yesterday - I used the third hand to fit the metal piece, and then crimped it and put the plastic block on. They work really well and look less ghetto than what I used before. 5 are fully assembled; I left the printer running overnight for the sixth. I'll have to bring my camera in to the office to take pictures of the build process so the rest of the team can implement this globally.

I've finished Mass Effect: Andromeda, at least until BioWare fixes their glitched missions (there's something like 3 or 4 at the minimum) or they put out some story DLC. I hear MP is actually decent now, but I don't have much interest in it at the moment.

I beat it last week and have immediately jumped into NG+. Changed to Sarah Ryder for shiggles.

Preparing the 3D printer for a big run. Going to need 20 of the boxes. It's been acting weird lately -- base layers are printing uneven, indicating uneven heating on the build plate. I've ordered some borosilicate glass and thermal pads (like the ones that ship on GPUs) and will stick it on top of the build plate. That, paired with a stainless steel extrusion head, will result in a more even and higher-quality base layer.

I'm also printing the parts for a Z-brace. I have the rods for the brace and just need a way to mount them on the printer itself. Luckily the shop I bought them from makes the STL files available for download.

The factory default X- and Y- acceleration values on the printer are a bit fast, designed to showcase the speed (ha) of the printer; however, they result in the frame vibrating a bit more than it should. I've turned them down a bit, so there shouldn't be as much ghosting on complex models.

I've also added some gcode tweaks to the post-print routine. It now keeps the extrusion head fan on for 2 minutes after the print, and brings the build plate to the front rather than sending it to the back.

And, speaking of the extrusion head fan ... the freaking bearing's going. Ordered a pair of 40x40x10 Scythe fans. Wanted to get Noctua ones but there's no Prime shipping, and I'm impatient.

I like that if you have custom twins in the game, and decide to change siblings for NG+, all the changes you made stick.
