Bat signal? There is only one superhero I would ever summon, my friend, and his signal involves big juicy ol' knockers.

Headed off to meet the inspector at what will hopefully be our new house.

Closing date is tentatively set for December 14th!

Inpsection went pretty well... a big list of things but nothing super bad nor out of the ordinary for a 44 year old house. Biggest thing is the secondary pool pump (it powers the little Polaris cleaning robot that scoots around the bottom of the pool) has a leak and the electrical subpanel for the pool is not up to code. Something about the subpanel box not seperating the neutral from the hot wires or something to that effect. Probably something I can fix in 20 minutes or a few beers whichever comes first.

Other notables - Being a 44 year old house there are things like several old style plugs without a ground (you know, no third prong), dirty and old insulation in the attic where the original shaker style roof was knocked down and a modern composition roof put in it's place, etc. But the inspector didn't find any signs of foundation problems or anything else major.

One other thing he was concerned about was the fact that the main breaker panel was located outside the house, so if it's not sealed properly water could get in and wreak havoc... but I see tons of houses with outside breaker panels and even lived in a few like that.

Also it is getting incredibly hard to get stuff from my Mexican cousin in Juarez...

Seems the days of the usenet are numbered (or at least the days of abusing it, lol). There's a firm that specializes in sending DMCA takedown notices to all the big usenet providers that have any sort of presence in the USA. Astraweb is particularly being hit hard because their brilliantly stupid owner decided to automate the DMCA takedown process.

Did you point to Mario and say 'This one's not good enough?'...

What are your thoughts?
