I had something lucky happen to me yesterday. I won't go into details, but I think it's going to allow me to move to Coffee Lake on my main rig...

Thanks, but I think I should probably stick with the software tools Proxmox gives me. Good to know things like LVM and ZFS

<edit> Already have Proxmox installed, have added the ZFS pool, and have created two VMs. I'm installing Ubuntu Server 16.04.3 on the first one, which will be the Pi-Hole.

So, does anyone know of some software solutions to act as a KVM for my multiple rigs?

Like, right now I'm physically swapping keyboard and mouse between them.

About the only thing I can think of would be to use an old skool remote desktop like client (Windows RDC, VNC, etc). Someone mentioned a service / application suite called Synergy, but I don't know much about it other than Linus Tech Tips seems to advertise the thing quite a bit.

I've looked into actual KVMs, but the ones that support HDMI 2.x (and thusly 4K) seem to be obnoxiously expensive...

I used Synergy a while ago, it was decent. I can give you a free KVM, but its probably VGA only.

I used Synergy a while ago and it worked pretty well, but it's been years. Take a look at Input Director too -- one of my coworkers uses it between his Lenovo E570 and Surface Pro.

Called out from work tonight because I didn't get enough sleep (had to deal with bullshit errands all day) but still have one more thing to do this morning. Shouldn't be a big deal, but I said that yesterday morning too.

On the upside, it gives me a chance to hit up Taco Bell for breakfast, which I discovered yesterday. And it's pretty good!

Adam took his car in to the shop for some work. They gave him a loaner: a 2017 Acura ILX. Yes, it's a tarted-up Civic ... yes, it has twice the horsepower of my Civic ... and yes, I beat the shit out of it when he let me take it out for a spin

Based on cursory research, the ILX is basically the current iteration of the Integra.

So good job.
