Right, so ...
  • Basin
  • Pedestal
  • 1 gallon of Kilz primer
  • 1 gallon of white eggshell finish paint
  • 1 gallon of dark gray eggshell finish paint
  • 1 quart of flat white ceiling paint (it's a small room)
  • 1 gallon of semigloss white paint
  • Toilet paper holder
  • Towel ring
  • Floor primer
  • Peel & stick tile
  • Paint roller covers
  • Painter's tape
  • 10-pack of white 120V receptacles
  • One two-pole two-toggle switch
  • 11 white wall plates for said receptacles and switch
  • Baseboards & quarter-round trim
  • Two 40W LED light bulbs
  • Teflon tape
  • Wax ring for a toilet

...I think that's it. Probably. I plan on ripping the powder room apart and putting it back together so it looks better. I'll be reusing the current faucet because it's only about a year old and will fit the new basin. The vanity is going and will be replaced with the pedestal sink, but the mirror above the vanity (which is a straight-up mirror that is mounted directly to the wall) is staying for now.

I have all of my tools ready to go: random orbit sander, paint roller, tray, tray liners, wet/dry vac + adapter for random orbit sander, finishing nails, and so on.

The power outlets going to have a USB plug for charging too? With phones becoming increasingly waterproof, it might be worth it.

The receptacles are for a different room. We already have a GFCI one in the bathroom.

I want to get the USB ones for the master bedroom, but I don't know if the in-wall boxes are deep enough.

I don't like those wall outlets with USB built in, and I always encourage people considering them NOT to install or use them. Here's why:

1. MOST IMPORTANTLY - cramming the circuitry needed for USB charging into a completely enclosed space like a standard junction / outlet box is a bad idea even with the best quality build you could come up with. Combine that with the fact that even your highest quality home improvement store unit is going to have the circuitry inside it designed and built by the lowest bidder from China and it gets even more scary. A standard wall outlet is nothing but a series of direct connections meant to get 120v AC to whatever you're plugging in - there are no discrete components inside it like diodes, capacitors, rectifiers, or transformers - hence no source of heat. To me throwing an AC to DC transformer into that little space is scary as fuck.

2. We are at a period right now where the charging technology for phones, tablets, and other devices is in a state of flux. For instance, my new Moto X Pure features Qualcomm's new 'Turbo Charging' technology wherein it supports incredibly fast charging by varying the voltage between 5, 9, and 12 volts across that USB connection.

That turbo charging feature is the SHIT. My Nexus 6 came with a turbo charger, and I can get hella battery life out of my phone after only 15 minutes on charge. Julie's LG G4 supports it as well.

Uh ... an oil+filter change, tire rotation+alignment, brake fluid flush, power steering fluid flush, new front brake pads, and rotor resurfacing for the van.

I'm pretty happy with it sofar, amazing what just 15 or 20 minutes of charge time gets you.

On that note, this morning there was a lightning deal on this:

it's normally $27.99 but it was like $23 for an hour this morning... so I snagged it. I like that it supports Quick Charge 2.0 on one of the ports.

Got my wife a Note 7 and myself a G4 Plus. She can use her phone but I can't since I can't drop my S6 SIM in it and go (stupid Sprint).

It's one of the non-exploding Note 7s, right? With the green battery indicator?
