There's no prebuilt LineageOS for the LG G Pad X 8.0 (v521) on their site ... so it looks like I need to build it myself.

Performing the "repo sync" step on their Wiki crashed my DSL router, though. Looks like I had to back it off to a single thread instead of the default 4.

A while back I uploaded a video to Youtube. It was a memorial video for Julie's dad made by the funeral home. After a while the audio was muted because it was copyrighted, and so I put the free audio from Youtube in there, but it wasn't the same.

Well, the anniversary of his death is coming up tomorrow, and Julie wanted some good music in it. Back in the day I would have used Windows Movie Maker, but that's obviously no longer a thing. I've got a Linux VM on my machine (VMware Workstation Player is free for non-commercial use, of course) running PopOS, which is System76's version of Ubuntu, so I threw Clipgrab on there and downloaded two songs. I loaded up Kdenlive, imported the video and audio clips, slowed the video down to 77% speed so both songs could play in full, and added a fade-to-black at the end. Works much better than the free Youtube music. Next I'll copy the file to the Plex server so she can watch it whenever she wants without my having to risk another Youtube copyright police action

Sounds like a lot of work, but I haven't modified an existing video that easily since ... well, since Windows Movie Maker.

If only all of my games ran on Linux. And no, Wine doesn't run all of them ... and no, I don't have the patience to fuck with Wine until it does

First time I've been at the PC in a couple of weeks...

Let's see... an update:
  • Still planning a move to Kentucky sometime before May. Therefore I'm slowly consolidating and packing things. A lot of dumping shit I don't need.
  • Trying to get the exercise and cardio routine back on track after becoming extremely derailed since before Thanksgiving. Rode 7.5 miles tonight spur of the moment but I'm feeling every bit of it right now.
  • Tons of Youtube product reviews I need to shoot. There's an Oculus Rift in the closet along with a Samsung Gear VR (2017 version). I need to unbox, review, and have fun with both of those. I also have a couple of Bluetooth speakers to review. Life has just been too busy for anything computer or youtube related lately.
  • Trying to get shit done for my aunt before I leave. More home improvement projects mostly... it's killing my 43 year old body though.

Y'all, Marie is the best thing that's ever happened to me. We FaceTime (or whatever Facebook's version is called) hours a day, multiple times daily. This woman is my soulmate and yes, I'm aware of how cliche` that sounds.

So you're saying you'll have time to game after you move, right?

The village is replacing all of the water meters with new, "smart" meters. Looks like they'd rather have meters that report back to base than have someone drive to every house and touch a reader to an outside wall. Had to move some shit around in the basement ... seriously, a lot of shit. Lots of old baby stuff, furniture we don't use anymore, tools, summer toys for the kids, boxes full of old books, etc.

Of course, when I moved one of the big Rubbermaid bins, a shit load of house centipedes ran around ... never stomped so many centipedes in one go before. Hate those fucking things. Least they're dead now.

Visited a Honda shop and test-drove a Civic Sport Touring. Exactly what I expected ... holy shit, they actually made a Honda with a torque curve, and that torque curve starts at 1700RPM and just sits there for AGES!

Now, it is time to haggle, and make the dealers hate each other and me.
